Post Production World NYC/ Content Creator World
NYC is always a favorite of mine. I don’t know what it was about this show, but the caliber of people this year was higher/more professional than the last five. Saw some old friends and made a bunch of new ones.

And of course, yes, you’re welcome to email me if you have questions about this or anything else!
UGA - Professor Biddle and Company
Could not have had MORE FUN being around UGA/Biddle and college students. Being around Wes Plate is always fun and invigorating!
And we did one of my all time favorite creative endeavors for film-makers and editors - 15 second movies.
For those that participated - you did fantastic! - no, I won't publish them, yes, your instructors have them. The thing about creating art, is that it's up to you if you want to show it off (or not!)
Oh, and as promised:
- Link to Adobe Color Correction + tools talk
- Link to my Documentary talk mind map
PostaPalooza 2015

CabSat 2015
Dubai and CabSat!
Just a couple of pictures from my iPhone.
Always a great time being in Dubai. Saw some friends, made some new ones and had great sessions (due to the audience!)
If you'd like the sessions notes - here they are. And yes, you're allowed to email me and ask followup questions!
Government Video Expo
Had an absolute blast teaching in DC.
It's always loads of fun. The show floor is usually about an hour or two of walking and talking, the educational sessions have the most value.
Here are there three sessions I taught.
Boot Camp on Video Compression
Distribution and Monetization of Video
And yes, if you have a question about these sessions or something else, you're supposed to reach out and email me!
Adobe Max: Color Correction.
Gratuitous picture of my parking space at the Fox Studio Lot:
Meanwhile, the last session I did at Adobe Max was on Color Correction.
For those of you who took the class - keep in mind the formula to work with 3 way CC...and the reverse for Curves. And that Adobe SpeedGrade has the same generalized toolset - just laid out differently.
Adobe Max: Compression
Compression is absolutely one of my favorite things to teach. Teaching it with minimal references to numbers is important - or most of use can feel overwhelmed.
And hopefully sometime in the next month forthecompressionist.com has some great material for video professionals.
Adobe Max: Shooting the Interview
Great group of people - great questions.
Shooting interviews can often be painful - here are the updated notes!
Adobe Max (keynote + Premiere Precision Techniques
Updated notes for Premiere Precision Techniques can be downloaded here.
Meanwhile, I thought I should share a picture - some six thousand plus people at Adobe Max.
Oh yeah, if you were thinking of coming to this conference and didn't - Microsoft gave everybody a Surface 3 Pro. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with mine, but I'm blown away what can be done in Photoshop and Illustrator with a touch interface
Next Video Conference - Pasadena, California!
Met so many smart, nice people at the Next Video Conference
Tuesday I did a session on Avid Media Composer tips and Adobe Premiere Pro tips.
Premiere Pro World
For those of you who attended - thanks for coming!
As I said at the event - NOW is the best time to review your notes. Don't wait until next week. 5-10 minutes per session. Totally worth it.
I met so many wonderful people. A silly selfie of me at one of the talks
On a series note, I apologize if I was a little withdrawn - my father passed about 2 weeks ago and it was dicey if I was going to even be able to attend the event at all.
As always, please be in touch. find me on your favorite social network and feel free to ask questions/drop a line etc.
Maximizing Adobe Premiere Pro's Performance
Fun class, great questions - last one of the conference.
Someone asked, how do I 'see' and put this sort of information together. Here's a rare PNG of my mindmap for this talk.
Troubleshooting Adobe Premiere Pro and Editing Systems
At the last moment, I decided to jump in and help Liron Golan's Talk about Troubleshooting.
This is his slide deck with a couple of additions
Added were slides specifically about Adobe Premiere Pro troubleshooting (at the project level) as well as a slide about shared environments (SAN)
As always, feel free to drop a line if you have a question open still from the event.
Deep into the Adobe Premiere Pro Timeline
This session covered some interface adjustments (lose the buttons already!), including how to really handle and configure the timeline, covered three point editorial, and delved into trimming.
